By 1998, the Packard brand was long gone. However, Roy Gullickson, a famous engineer and entrepreneur disagreed. He got the rights to the Packard name and created this, and there’s no other word for it, monstrosity. Roy and his friend Lawrence Johnson (also an engineer) worked on this thing for almost a decade, throwing some $1.5 million in investment. It had a handmade one-off 573 horsepower V12, but the idea of it never caught on. With a design like that, we’re even surprised it later sold for $143,000 at an auction in 2014.
